Abstract
This article aims to problematize aspects related to the way an analyst may develop his practice in the hospital context, a practice that comes across multiple obstacles and challenges. To do this, we intend to raise and sustain aspects related to the specificity of analytical practice in the hospital. In order to achieve such goal, we pointed out the existing differences between psychoanalysis (which is interested in the subject's singularity) and medicine (which follows a path guided by an established ideal of cure). Our argumentation was built above fragments of a clinical case, through which was possible to establish points that help us to reflect about the analytical work in the hospital context.
