Resumen

Introducción: La satisfacción con la vida (SWL) y el estado de ánimo de las personas mayores son variables importantes para el envejecimiento saludable, se sabe que están relacionadas con el apoyo social global, pero la influencia de diferentes dominios de apoyo ha sido poco investigada. Objetivo: Comprender la asociación entre los cambios en SWL y en ánimo, así como la asociación entre los cambios en la SWL y el ánimo con el apoyo social global y sus dominios (tangible; interacción social afectiva/positiva; y emocional/información) en una población de edad avanzada. Método: Estudio prospectivo con 122 ancianos residentes en Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brasil, que participaron del Estudio FIBRA-JF en 2009/2010 y 2018/2019. Resultados: Todas las variables se asociaron entre sí, excepto el apoyo emocional/informativo con el cambio de humor y el apoyo tangible con el cambio en SWL. Discusión: Se evidencia la necesidad de crear estrategias de intervención en salud que consideren la influencia de los dominios de apoyo sobre los cambios en SWL y en ánimo en personas mayores. Conclusión: Se sugiere que los cambios en SWL en la vejez están asociados con cambios en el ánimo y la percepción de apoyo social.
